Members listserve

One of the greatest benefits of OWLS membership is the opportunity to join the OWLS e-mail listserve, which connects participants to over 900 OWLS members throughout the state. Credited with helping to create a “culture of support” in the Oregon legal community, the listserve is an excellent forum for referrals, legal questions, and job announcements.

You can set the list serve to allow individual messages or a once a day digest. Click here for instructions to change your list serve settings.

Instructions for posting to the list serve and the list serve etiquette are available by clicking here.

Member Directory

The OWLS membership directory will be available online in 2011 for the first time, available to OWLS members only. Member entries include contact information, bar memberships, practice area(s) and foreign languages.

AdvanceSheet Newsletter

OWLS members receive the AdvanceSheet, the Oregon Women Lawyers quarterly newsletter. This 16-page publication contains interviews, information on OWLS events and members, book reviews and in-depth articles on topics relevant to women in the legal field. Production of the newsletter is overseen by the AdvanceSheet Committee.

Ad rates and deadlines
OWLS invites businesses to support our work by advertising in the quarterly AdvanceSheet newsletter. Ads reach about 2000 attorneys, judges, and others in the legal community. Legal employers and others use AdvanceSheet advertising to announce new hires, promote services, and build name familiarity. For advertising information, click here.

Bi-weekly e-newsletter

Oregon Women Lawyers members receive a bi-weekly electronic newsletter with information about upcoming events, chapter activities, and member career moves.

Members Volunteer

OWLS invites our members to get involved in one or more volunteer committees. These collegial groups provide an excellent context for networking and leadership. Opportunities include serving on the Leadership Committee or Regional Outreach Committees, helping to plan the Roberts-Deiz annual awards dinner, or writing for the AdvanceSheet Quarterly Newsletter. Members enjoy leadership opportunities, gain access to experienced and respected leaders in the legal community, and develop meaningful and satisfying mentoring relationships.
