EVENTS

Oregon Women Lawyers invites sponsorship of our many educational, networking and recognition events throughout the year. Sponsoring an OWLS event offers excellent publicity for your firm or business and shows your support for OWLS’ mission.

Roberts Deiz Awards Dinner (March 9, 2012)
This is OWLS' signature event and our most popular sponsorship opportunity. About 450 people attended the 2010 dinner. With the Justice Betty Roberts and Judge Mercedes Deiz Awards, OWLS honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to promoting women and minorities in the legal profession and in the community. Sponsorship levels are as follows:

  • Title Sponsor ($5000; includes a table for ten) The 2011 Title Sponsor was Miller Nash LLP.
  • Platinum Sponsor ($2000; includes a table for ten)
  • Gold Sponsor ($1000; includes four tickets)
  • Silver Sponsor ($650; includes two tickets)

Inter-professional Networking Events (Portland, Eugene, Bend, Salem)
Starting in 2006, OWLS has organized several networking events with professionals in other fields. These have been extremely popular. Between 50 and 100 attendees joined us for events that included real estate professionals, financial professionals, and others. Events have taken place in Portland, Eugene and Bend. Generally, one firm sponsors the event by picking up the tab for the food. The amount is approximately $1800 - $2000 for sole sponsorship of the event.

Fall CLE
As the only organization in Oregon that sponsors CLEs designed specifically to meet the needs of women in the legal profession, OWLS generally attracts over 100 attendees at CLEs. The Fall CLE is especially popular as attorneys ensure sure they have fulfilled their CLE requirements before the end of the year. In an effort to bring small and medium firms into the sponsorship fold, sponsorships for the 2011Fall CLE are only $250. The keynote speaker on October 14 2011 is Professor Anita Hill.

ADVERTISING

In addition to event sponsorship, OWLS depends on advertising revenues from our newsletter and directory to help support our work.

AdvanceSheet Advertising (January, April, July, October)
The OWLS quarterly newsletter, the AdvanceSheet, has a circulation of about 2000. Advertisers reach a highly targeted audience for very reasonable rates. Many of our advertisers come back year after year. Rates range from $75 to $210 per issue.

OWLS Directory (January)
OWLS' member directory will be on-line only beginning in 2011. Advertising opportunities are TBD.

YEAR-ROUND SPONSOR OPPORTUNITIES

Leadership Forums
OWLS presents Leadership Forums throughout the year. These events feature speakers on a wide range of topics, and are typically attended by 20 – 35 people. Each event is hosted by a firm or company, which provides meeting space and refreshments for the gathering.

DragonFlies Dragonboat Team
The OWLS DragonFlies are an award-winning team of paddlers who compete during the Portland Rose Festival and throughout the region every summer. Sponsors support the team at a wide range of levels. Go to the OWLS Dragonflies Website for more information.

In-kind services and support
Like other professional organizations, OWLS purchases services such as printing, graphic design, and computer/technical support. We are always grateful for donated services that help us defray some of those costs.
