If you are an employer interested in posting a project or job opportunities on the OWLS Contract Lawyers Listserve, please contact our Contract Lawyer Service Coordinator, Norma S. Freitas at nsfreitas@aol.com or at 503.375.5484.

Are you a contract lawyer? Are you interested in pursuing contract lawyer work and connecting with other contract lawyers? If so, become a member of the OWLS Contract Lawyers Listserve. The Contract Lawyers Service will connect you with contract lawyer projects and put you in touch with other lawyers who are making it as contract lawyers.

Members of the Contract Lawyers list serve have access to contract projects that are posted on the listserve by Oregon employers. The list serve also provides a forum for members to communicate with other contract lawyers about issues that arise in the area of contract lawyering.

Requirements
To join the Contract Lawyers Service, you must:
(1) be an active member of OWLS;
(2) pay an annual fee of $20;
(3) be a lawyer in good standing in at least one state; and
(4) be actively pursuing work as a contract lawyer.

How to Join

STEP ONE:

Join on-line or download and complete the Oregon Women Lawyers Membership Form (in PDF format).

If you are already a member of OWLS, simply fill out the name and address section, check off the "Contract Lawyers" box on the first page, and indicate that you are already a member of OWLS. You must include your email address.

STEP TWO:
Return the completed Membership Form with your $20 payment to:

Leadership Empowerment Gatherings (LEG-Up)

The OWLS Leadership Committee presents Leadership Empowerment Gatherings (LEG-Ups) which feature speakers on a wide range of topics and are hosted by law firms or companies, who provide snacks, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages.

OWLS Members listserve

The OWLS members-only listserve is an email group used to communicate with fellow members on relevant matters.  Members are encouraged to join the listserve and connect with colleagues on referrals, advice, and information regarding OWLS events, etc.  Emails are not made available to outside "spam" emails. Contact the OWLS Office if you are an OWLS member and wish to join the listserve.

OWLS Member Directory

OWLS' member directory comes out at the beginning of each year and is mailed to every OWLS member. Total circulation is approximately 1500. The directory includes an alphabetical listing of all members, and secondary listings by practice area, location, membership in other state bars, and foreign language skills.

Advertising in the OWLS Member Directory

Advertising in the Oregon Women Lawyers (OWLS) annual membership directory is a great way to market your business to a targeted audience.Published since 1990, the OWLS Directory contains member listings that include name, firm, address, phone, fax, e-mail, areas of practice, and job title. The Directory is an attractive 8 1/2” x 11” coil-bound book. It is distributed to all OWLS members and advertisers in February.

Advertisers span a wide range of products and services. Because the Directory serves as a source for networking and referral, advertisers include many individual attorneys and law firms.

OWLS Opting-In Group

OWLS members share ideas and resources for their journey back into the practice of law after taking a break, be it to parent, care for family, a medical leave or a change in career path. Click here to join this new listserve for OWLS members-only.
